All I know is sound, but I'm not a real audiophile (or name). So I do not know how a normal person would have this number, since it took half an hour on the phone with Sony support first conceived.

Now this is my second Sony receiver and I bought this specifically to go with my new Sony BDP-S360 Blu Ray. I used new category 2 HDMI cables into the receiver and then to my HDTV from Sony. This is the best way for actual losses not suppossed decoding audio and video. Well, I was surprised when my receiver does not decode DTS audio. All songs were played in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound perfect ... DTS Linear PCM stereo track back into play. So after reading the manual, updated the firmware and put everything to try a couple of DVD and Blu Ray I contacted Sony support via e-mail. The exchanges later, I asked her to call me solve my problem better. Before talking to the child of Blu Ray (because I'm not sure which device is causing the problem) and after resetting the player and check settings for everyone who was transferred to the audio department. Once you restart the machine to factory settings, checked all the start-up and still nothing has changed (I said I had to go out and connect various cables and run an optical cable to my Sony receiver old?). So 1 1 / 2 hours phone call asked if I had the sound through the TV speakers, it was me and said 'oh on TV AMP. So we changed the settings that only "Amp" and bingo ... DTS surround sound! I said, "What is the default. He said the information was in the manual, but I have found that neither the manual says that when the receiver is used as a gateway to finde a signal through the HDMI and DTS decoding beneficiary must be set to "Amp" and not just the default setting of "TV AMP What ...??

So now the phone works fine, even the new DTS-HD Master Audio on my "Watchmen disc" Blu Ray. But keep in mind that if you use the HDMI inputs for surround sound decoding, you must change the system of "amp" instead of the standard "TV AMP" unless you like the sound of your stereo surround system. This may be the case with other Sony receivers are well aware that the purchase of non-compliance can not allow optimum performance and the guys from Sony may not be aware of this fact when you call soon.
